MOBILE, Ala. – The SSAC announced its Men's Tennis Awards for the 2024-25 season at the conference banquet Wednesday evening, and Loyola was represented well on the awards list, with three Wolf Pack student-athletes making Second-Team All-Conference and eight on the SSAC All-Academic Team.

Remus Hebhang-Balan, Hippolyte de Preville, and Alfredo Gallegos were the All-Conference honorees as three Wolf Pack players earned Second-Team All-Conference for the first time. On the All-Academic Team were Hebhang-Balan, de Preville, Martin Ashworth, Akhil Indrabalan, Sam Izrael, Spencer Matz, Samuel Motazed, and Fernando Sedrani Piestun

This is the third time that Hebhang-Balan has made either the First or Second Team. He was First-Team All-Conference in his first season of competition in 2021-22 and made Second Team a year ago. Playing every match this year at the top spot in singles and doubles, Hebhang-Balan went 5-9 overall but 4-2 in SSAC singles matches. He and Akhil Indrabalan played most of the year at No. 1 doubles, with the duo going 8-6 overall. He also played the last two matches of the year with Samuel Motazed, splitting those matches for a team-high nine total doubles wins during the season.

Splitting time between the No. 2 and No. 3 spots in singles, Hippolyte de Preville was second on the team in wins this season with an 8-6 overall record. Early in the season, he garnered a singles ranking as high as No. 26 in the NAIA. He also went 7-6 in doubles alongside Gallegos. This is the junior's second straight appearance on the SSAC's Second Team.

Gallegos not only had a strong freshman season, but he also totaled the most wins of any Loyola men's tennis player since the program began competition in 2010. The freshman went 12-4 in his singles matches this season, 5-1 in conference play, and he was recognized by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association with an NAIA singles ranking of No. 62.

Loyola's men's tennis team won its final match of the season against the University of Mobile to claim the fourth seed in the upcoming SSAC Championship. The Wolf Pack will face fifth-seeded Mobile again to start the tournament, with the match scheduled for 1 p.m. on Thursday.
