NEW ORLEANS – The Intercollegiate Tennis Association has released its first ITA Collegiate Tennis Rankings of the 2025 spring season, and several members of both the Loyola Wolf Pack men's and women's tennis teams featured in the rankings in singles and doubles.Â

Loyola jumped up to No. 6 in the women's tennis ITA team rankings, which is higher than the No. 8 ranking given in the NAIA Coaches' Rating on Wednesday. The Wolf Pack women are 5-1 so far this season, with wins against ranked NAIA teams SCAD Savannah, SCAD Atlanta, St. Thomas (Fla.), Xavier, and Nicholls, as well as NCAA Division-I team Nicholls.Â

Individually, Lucy Carpenter started the season at No. 7, moving down to No. 11 in singles in this edition of the ITA rankings. Loyola's all-time leader in wins, Carpenter is 3-1 this season, with wins against the top players from Nicholls, St. Thomas, and Dillard. She was also up a set in her unfinished matches against No. 2 overall Shalimar Talbi from SCAD Atlanta and No. 25 Yue Yu from SCAD Savannah.Â

The ranked doubles team for the women also features Carpenter paired with Chloe Henderson. The duo is 5-1 and has an NAIA ranking of No. 12, with their only loss coming against Xavier's top doubles team. Henderson and Carpenter have several impressive wins this season, including against SCAD Atlanta's No. 7-ranked duo of Talbi and Adrianna Kluska.Â

Loyola's men's team also garnered individual recognition in the ITA Rankings. Hippolyte de Preville became Loyola's highest ranked singles player in program history, checking in at No. 26 on the list. Playing every match at No. 2 singles this season, de Preville has a 3-1 overall record in the spring. In his last match, he won in straight sets against Xavier's No. 72-ranked Artur Yakubov, a player he also defeated in the fall.Â

The Loyola men also had its first doubles team to be ranked by the ITA. Akhil Indrabalan and Remus Hebhang-Balan, who have played at the No. 1 doubles position all season, received a ranking of No. 42 in NAIA men's doubles. The duo started out the year 3-0, with wins against Nicholls, SCAD Atlanta, and Reinhardt.Â

The ITA Collegiate Tennis Rankings are released biweekly in the spring, with the next set of rankings coming out on March 27. Loyola will play five NAIA opponents between now and then, beginning with a conference matchup against Blue Mountain Christian on Friday.Â
