Wolf Pack loses matchup against Faulkner Saturday

Loyola will return to The Den on Thursday for another conference matchup

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Wolf Pack took on the Faulkner Eagles in Montgomery, Alabama, on Saturday, falling to the conference opponents. The Maroon and Gold will make their way to start a four-game homestand in The Den on Thursday for another SSAC matchup with the Mobile Rams on Feb. 13, at 7:30 p.m.

Jarvis Brown and Leonard Jackson put the Pack on the board to start Saturday's contest, 3-2. The Eagles, however, quickly scored to leave the Wolf Pack behind, 9-3. Scores by Cameron Williams and Kameron Johnson helped slice the Faulkner advantage six minutes into the contest, 11-9. Kosta Bjelicic added his name to the box score with a bucket, then Milan Mejia drained a triple with the help of an assist from Reece Seicshnaydre, down 17-14.

The Eagles extended their lead in the second stretch of the first half, consistently making 3-pointers to keep the Pack behind. Jaylen Peters got on the board to get the Faulkner advantage back to 10, then Jackson drained a trey to get back into single-digit range, 29-22. However, Faulkner kept its foot on the pedal through the remainder of the first half, despite Loyola's best efforts to tie things up, 51-30.

The Eagles continued to score after the break, hitting three straight three-pointers in the first two minutes. Shortly after, Mejia posted back-to-back triples of his own, 64-36. Julian Baldwin and Troy Thomas got on the board with a layup and a triple, respectively. Faulkner pulled away from there, taking the conference victory over the Wolf Pack.
