BATON ROUGE, La. – Loyola arrived at the LSU Natatorium on Wednesday to compete against the LSU Tigers swim team. Wolf Pack men competed against tough competition in LSU through nine events on Wednesday.
The Wolf Pack will continue the swimming season when both teams travel to Mount Berry, Georgia, for the Viking Invitational on Saturday, Jan. 25.
The Pack started the day by competing in the 200-yard medley relay. Loyola A took fourth place with a 1:40.04 time, while Loyola B took fifth place, recording a time of 1:41.0. Benjamin Chehebar and Logan Gary notched fifth and sixth-place finishes in the 200-yard freestyle event, earning 1:45.35 and 1:48.69 times, respectively. In the 50-yard freestyle race, Aaron Ervin logged fourth place with a 23.00 time and Sebastian Pedregon finished in fifth place with a 25.29 time. In the 100-yard butterfly event, Dylan Chehebar led Loyola in fourth place (52.20), while Charles Henderson took fifth (54.39) and Jackson Smith received sixth place (55.67).
Jack McNamara registered fifth place (48.99) in the 100-yard freestyle race. In the same event, Tytan Frawley got sixth place (49.31) with Andrew Levine taking seventh place (52.97). Hayden Sutton completed the 100-yard backstroke in fifth place for a 58.02 time. Sergio Martínez Sanz received fifth place, after logging a time of 5:03.75 in the 500-yard freestyle event. In the 100-yard breaststroke, Monty Moore-Yetter and Harvey Quiddington earned fourth (58.13) and fifth (59.52) places, respectively, finishing ahead of an LSU swimmer. To end the day, Loyola's A team got fifth place (1:28.98) in the 200-yard freestyle relay while the B team received sixth place (1:31.76).
