Wolf Pack swim finishes Sun Conference Championships

OCALA, Fla. – The Loyola University men's and women's swim teams finished the Sun Conference Championships with four more individual events and one more relay race on Saturday. 
 

The day started with the 1,650-yard freestyle finals, and Emma Romero and Abbigail Chemacki placed back-to-back in the 11th and 12th place with times of 18:36.52 and 18:56.35, respectively. On the men's side, Sergio Martínez Sanz took 13th with a time of 16:31.18, and Logan Gary was 18th with a time of 17:01.21. 
 

The Loyola men's team had seven compete individually in the evening finals. Harvey Quiddington led the team with an eighth-place finish (2:05.39), but his prelim time of 2:04.91 was a season-best time for the senior. Monty Moore-Yetter swam in the same race and took 10th with a time of 2:05.42. 
 

In the 200-yard backstroke, Shay Brunmeier finished 12th with a time of 1:56.51, and Hayden Sutton took 13th with a time of 1:58.95. Sutton's 1:58.17 time in the morning preliminary events was a personal record for the sophomore. Dylan Chehebar (1:54.24), Landon Crescioni (1:55.53), and Charles Henderson (1:56.37) placed 12th, 14th and 16th in the 200-yard butterfly. Henderson's 1:54.80 time in the prelim race went down as a season best for the senior.
