HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The Loyola Wolf Pack men's tennis team faced NAIA No. 7 William Carey in a road match Thursday to close out the Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC) schedule. The Crusaders won in a sweep to clinch the SSAC Regular Season Championship.
With one match left until the conference tournament, the Wolf Pack's record moves to 2-10 on the season, 2-5 in conference play. The team will play NCAA D-I squad Nicholls on Saturday, April 13. The SSAC Championship tournament begins Wednesday, April 24.
Carey won all three doubles matches leading into singles, which was played to clinch.
Samuel Motazed won the first set in his match on court 2 before conceding the next two sets. Otherwise, the Carey didn't drop a set on any other singles courts.
