Competitive Dance competes at NAIA National Championship

YPSILANTI, Mich. – The Loyola University New Orleans competitive dance team made the trip to Ypsilanti, Michigan, to compete in the NAIA National Championship this weekend, finishing the two-day competition in 12th place. It was the sixth trip to the National Championship in eight years as a program for the dance team. 
 

St. Ambrose (Iowa) won the event with a score of 92.49, and Midland (92.13), Baker (88.66) and Grand View (88.66) followed to make up the Top 3. 
 

The Wolf Pack started the Championship by competing in the preliminary round on Friday, scoring a 70.97 and just getting edged out by Concordia's (Mich.) 73.93 for the 11th position. Then on Saturday in the finals, Loyola improved its score by totaling a 72.10 to finish the competition with a final score of 71.82. 
 

Loyola advanced to the National Championship after winning the NAIA Competitive Dance Southeast Qualifier earlier this month, finishing that competition with a score of 75.6. 
 

Rachel Berzas, Chloe Benoit, Gabby D'Angelo, Elisse Ward Dones, Jayden Jackson, Sofia Marble and Sara Tujague all competed for the Wolf Pack.
