Loyola New Orleans set to host NAIA Dance Qualifier Monday

NEW ORLEANS – For the third consecutive year, Loyola University New Orleans will host a NAIA Competitive Dance Qualifier with a berth to the NAIA National Championship on the line. The competition will begin at 10 a.m. and take place on Monday, March 10, inside the University Sports Complex ("The Den"). 
 

"We're excited to once again host the NAIA Dance Qualifier," Assistant Vice President of Athletics Brett Simpson said. "Our student-athletes have prepared well for this opportunity and are thrilled to perform on their home court. We look forward to hosting the other participants here in New Orleans."
 

Loyola will be competing against three other teams, welcoming Hope International (Calif.), Ave Maria (Fla.) and Our Lady of the Lake (Texas). Each team will compete in a preliminary round starting at 10 a.m. to decide the order of the finals, which will begin at 12:30 p.m. The final awards will be announced at 1:35 p.m. While the winner of the qualifier will receive an automatic berth to the national championship, the other teams can still capture an at-large berth to the event in Ypsilanti, Michigan, which will take place March 28-29.
 

"We are excited and ready to showcase the changes we've made since our last competition," Loyola Head Dance Coach Courtney Cadore said. "The team has done well with improving their overall technique and performance quality. We appreciate our fan base and look forward to having our family, friends, and the Loyola Community in the stands supporting us."
 

Tickets are available to purchase on Loyola's athletics website, and a broadcast of the event will be streamed via Varsity Sports Now, Loyola Athletics' broadcast partner.
