Loyola dance team sweeps all four competitions at Battle in the Big Easy

NEW ORLEANS  – The Loyola University New Orleans competitive dance team won four different matchups over the weekend in a successful start to the 2026 schedule. 

Competing against Dillard, Our Lady of the Lake, and Texas A&M Texarkana, the Wolf Pack won two matchups on Thursday and two more on Friday. Each matchup featured three schools. 

The lowest score for Loyola (94.28) in the team's first matchup was still higher than any other school's score throughout the competition. Dillard (90.19) came in second place in that first matchup, while Texarkana was third (77.73). 

Loyola closed out Thursday's events with the team's highest score, 95.06, to beat out Our Lady of the Lake (92.13) and Texarkana (80). 

On Friday, the Wolf Pack were matched up against Our Lady of the Lake and Dillard on two separate occasions, and all three teams scored over 90 points on each routine. Despite the tough competition, Loyola prevailed in both matchups Friday, with scores of 94.72 and 94.69.

The Wolf Pack dance team will head to San Antonio for the NAIA Regional Qualifier, hosted by Our Lady of the Lake, which is scheduled to take place on March 13 and 14.
