NEW ORLEANS – The Loyola Wolf Pack men's tennis team played its last home match of the season on Tuesday, taking on No. 20 SCAD Savannah at the City Park Tennis Center.
In its third consecutive match against NAIA top-25 competition, the Pack fell 7-0. The team's record this year is now 0-7, but Loyola will have a chance to bounce back at the SSAC Roundup in Mobile, Alabama this weekend. The team's first match at the Roundup is Friday against Blue Mountain Christian, which is 1-4 this season.
To start the match on Tuesday, Loyola was up on two courts late in doubles competition, but SCAD made a comeback to snatch the doubles point. Remus Hebhang-Balan and Nick Stam had a 5-3 lead on court 3, but their match remained unfinished after the Bees won at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles.
SCAD won singles matches on courts 2, 3, and 5 to wrap up the 4-0 win. Stam and Spencer Matz each were up a set in their matches at No. 4 and No. 6 singles, but the match was clinched before their courts could finish.
