NEW ORLEANS – The Loyola Wolf Pack men's tennis team lost 7-0 to crosstown rival Dillard at the City Park Tennis Center Wednesday afternoon. It was another ranked matchup for the Pack, as Dillard came into the contest ranked No. 18 in the NAIA.
Â
The Wolf Pack's record is now 0-6 on the season, 0-2 in Southern States Athletic Conference matches. The team will return to City Park in a week to face No. 20 SCAD Savannah.Â
Â
Loyola was missing several regular lineup players due to injury, which moved others up in the order. Freshman Alexander Lichy competed in his first regular season match for the Pack, and Diego Rodriguez Tobar and Fernando Sedrani Piestun played doubles for the first time this season in a non-exhibition match.Â
Â
The Bleu Devils took all three doubles matches on the day, and they won every singles match in straight sets. Hippolyte de Preville was close to taking the first set in his match, however, dropping a long tiebreak 11-9.Â
