After the Green Wave scored the first two buckets, Sandra Cannady made her next two shots to tie the game early, 4-4. Tulane would extend its lead out to 12-4 with three minutes left in the opening quarter, but MG Lymon hit a 3-pointer to cut the deficit to five, 12-7. Caitlin Travis got on the board in the final minute to make it a 19-9 game heading to the second quarter.Â
Â
Deniya Thornton and Alissa O'Dell scored their first points of the game to start the next frame, however, Tulane would build a 14-point lead, 27-13, moments later. Scores by Travis, Cannady and a 3-pointer by Lizzy Ratcliff kept Loyola in it, 31-20, then Travis hit a 3 to bring the Pack to within 10, 33-23, with 1:16 until halftime. Tulane scored the final five points of the half, though, to take the 38-23 lead into the break.Â
Â
