MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Loyola men's basketball senior Jalen Galloway is off to a solid start to the 2022-23 season. Not only has he helped the Wolf Pack to a 3-0 start, improving the program's winning streak to 24 straight games, but he has collected two of the first three Southern States Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week awards this season.Â

The SSAC announced Galloway as this week's award winner on Monday.Â
Galloway was instrumental in Loyola's second-half push that propelled the Pack past Southern University at New Orleans, 89-81, on Saturday. The senior scored 23 of his 25 points in the final 20 minutes of that game, and he racked up nine rebounds, two steals and two blocks in the second half. To go along with his 25 points, he finished the game with 10 rebounds to collect his second double-double in Loyola's three games this season.Â
The Meridian, Idaho, native is averaging 23.3 points and eight rebounds per game so far this season while shooting 54 percent from the floor and 44 percent from the 3-point line.Â
Loyola is on the road this week, first playing an exhibition against NCAA Division I Southern Miss Monday at 7 p.m. before traveling to Dalton State and Life University Thursday and Saturday to start SSAC play.Â
