Tiger Cheung picked up a win at the second flight in singles but Xavier swept the Wolf Pack on every other court.
NEW ORLEANS – Facing another tough task on Sunday at the XULA Tennis Center, the Loyola University New Orleans men's and women's tennis teams both dropped matches against Xavier, whose teams were each ranked third in the NAIA Coaches' Preseason Poll.
For both Wolf Pack teams, who now own 2-2 records, it was the second big challenge of the weekend, with both teams facing facing the NCAA DI University of New Orleans on Saturday.
Tiger Cheung earned a 6-4, 6-4 on court two in singles play, but by that point, Xavier had already clinched the match, with the Gold Rush picking up victories on courts one and three, as well as every doubles match.
On the women's side, Xavier didn't drop any matches, winning on every doubles court and claiming straight-set victories in the top four flights in singles.
The Wolf Pack now hit the road to Mobilef, Ala., or the SSAC Round Up, which begins with a men's and women's doubleheader against Bethel on Thursday, February 14, at 3 p.m.
