The Wolf Pack tennis team has strong showing in the loss to Nicholls State on Saturday.
The Loyola University tennis team welcomed NCAA DI Nicholls State to the City Park Tennis Center for a matchup on Saturday afternoon.
Both teams had some strong play across the board but were unable to come away with the victory against the Colonels at home. The men's fell 3-6 on Saturday while the women's squad dropped the 0-9 decision at City Park.
Koral Martinez (SO/Lajas, Puerto Rico) and Miranda Cano (FR/Weston, Fla.) manned the No. 1 doubles match falling 6-2 against the team of Lingfeng Gu and Clemence Krug.
Nadja Ochsner (FR/Stein, Switzerland) battled Krug in the single's competition but ultimately came up short 6-4.
On the men's side, the team of Galileo Cabrales (FR/San Salvador, El Salvador) and Alexander DePascaul turned in a promising performance, gaining the 6-4 victory over the team of Max Sinn and Cornelius Schramm third doubles.
The team of Maxime Rameau and Sean Presti (SO/Lesigny, France) also managed victories over their opponents, taking third flight 6-2.
In the single's competition, de Diego led the way for the Wolf Pack with a 6-1,7-6 victory over Sinn at fourth position.
Loyola will travel to Mobile, Ala. to take on the No. 22 Middle Georgia State on Feb. 24. The team is set to take the court at 9 a.m. for game one of the SSAC Round-Up.
