The men's and women's tennis drops the 0-9 decision against DI University of New Orleans on Friday afternoon.

The Loyola University New Orleans tennis team made the short trip across town on Friday afternoon to square off against NCAA DI University of New Orleans.

Despite a strong showing in doubles play, the women's squad was unable to come away victorious, falling to the Privateers 0-9.

Miranda Tano and Koral Martinez (SO/Lajas, Puerto Rico) commanded the No. 1 doubles match against UNO's Anna Segarra and Anja Luethi. They lost the doubles match 6-3.

Martinez also managed the No. 1 singles match against Trang Dao of the Privateers. In spite of a strong showing in the first game, she would lose two of the three matches against Dao (6-4;2-6;10-5).

On the men's side, Steven Le and Ernesto de Diego had the No. 1 doubles matchup but it was the team of Alexander de Pascual and Galileo Cabrales who had the strongest showing.

The doubles team lost 7-5 against the Privateers' Luis Albuquerque and Giacomo Adoneecchi.

In the singles competition, Sean Presti lost both his matches 6-4 against Adoneecchi.
