Loyola baseball drops two games to No. 8 Auburn University at Montgomery on Strike Out Autism Day

Wolf Pack now hold 1.5 game lead over Blue Mountain College for the final spot in the SSAC Championship.

Coming off one of the biggest victories in program history yesterday, the Loyola University New Orleans Baseball team returned to Segnette Field on Saturday to close out their series with No. 8 Auburn University at Montgomery.

Today's results were not as favorable as yesterday's, as the Wolf Pack fell 5-1 in game one and 11-1 in the final game of the twinbill.

With the losses, Loyola drops to 21-30 on the year and 6-17 in the Southern States Athletics Conference (SSAC). The Wolf Pack entered today's games up 2.5 games on Blue Mountain College for the final spot in the SSAC Championship but saw that lead drop to just 1.5 games following a Rams victory over Bethel earliertoday.

The Wolf Pack only managed two hits over the next two innings to five the visitors the 5-1 victory in game one.

The Warhawks put the hammer down over the next six innings, tacking on 10 runs to grab the 11-1 win in seven innings.
