The Loyola Tennis teams competed against SSAC rival William Carey on Saturday

They will compete in their first SSAC Roundup of 2016 on February 19-20

HATTIESBURG, MISS.- The Loyola University New Orleans Tennis teams traveled to Hattiesburg, Mississippi on Saturday to face-off with Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC) foe William Carey University.

Both of the Wolf Pack programs were 0-3 coming into the slate of matches. The Crusaders men's team, which was ranked No. 7 in the preseason polls, is 3-4, while the women's team, ranked No. 6 in the preseason polls, were 2-5.

Loyola continued to take big strides for the program, but fell on the men's side 8-1, while the women dropped a 6-1 decision.

The men's top doubles pair of Jr. Steven Le (Tustin, Calif./Irvine Valley) and So. Ernesto de Diego (Panama City, Panama/International School of Panama) captured their second victory of the season at first flight by a score of 9-7.

For the women, Isabel Junqueira (LU) def. Kayla Rycroft (WCU) by default.
