The Loyola University New Orleans Tennis team continued its season-opening weekend on Saturday morning, making the short trip across town to take on nationally-ranked Xavier University (La.).
The women fell 9-0 to the No. 11 Gold Nuggets, before the men dropped an 8-1 decision against the No. 4 Gold Rush inside the Xavier Tennis Center.
After starting the season with a loss at DI University of New Orleans, both Loyola tennis teams drop to 0-2 in 2016. Conversely, both of Xavier's squads improve to 1-0 following Saturday's victory.
The Wolf Pack's lone win on Saturday came at second singles, where the freshman duo of Sean Presti (Lesigny, France/Morningside Academy)and Maxime Rumeau earned an 8-5 victory in the first match of the afternoon.
