The Loyola University New Orleans men's and women's tennis teams were swept by ranked College of Coastal Georgia squads this morning in their final match of the first Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC) Round-Up in Mobile, Alabama.

(Mobile, Ala.) The Loyola University New Orleans men's and women's tennis teams were swept by ranked College of Coastal Georgia squads this morning in their final match of the first Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC) Round-Up in Mobile, Alabama. The Coastal Georgia men's team earned a No. 14 ranking in the latest edition of the NAIA Poll, while the women's team secured a No. 17 ranking.
Senior Meghan de Baroncelli and sophomore Alexa Mancuso put up a fight in the No. 1 doubles position against Daniella Caruso and Emy Alplund of Coastal Georgia, but fell to the duo 5-8. de Baroncelli brought Freja Rasmussen to a tie-breaking set in the No. 1 singles position, but dropped her match 6-4, 4-6 (10-6).
Senior Tony Benjamin and freshman Anthony Zaleski won two individual games in the No. 3 doubles position against Monteo Garcia and Joel Hunter of Coastal Georgia, but fell to the Mariners 2-8. Freshman Ernesto de Diego won six individual games, but fell to Coastal Georgia's Rhan Burton 4-6, 2-6 at the No. 2 singles position.
The Wolf Pack will return home and resume action Saturday, February 28 against Tougaloo College at 10:30 a.m. before taking on Rhodes College at 3 p.m.
