Loyola Women's Basketball Falls Short to St. Thomas in Miami

Women's hoops falls to St. Thomas, finishes weekend 1-1

Miami, Fla - Despite a game high of 28 points from junior Jasmine Brewer, Loyola University New Orleans fell short to St. Thomas University 85-80 in women's basketball this afternoon in the Fernandez Family Center.

The Wolf Pack had four players with double digit points. Brewer, who tied a career high with 28 points, grabbed 9 rebounds and converted 14-19 of her free throws. Senior Megan Berner followed up last night's career high 29 points against Johnson and Wales with a career high 11 rebounds. She added 11 points for the double double. Senior Adrienne Easley totalled 12 points, grabbing 6 rebounds, and 4 assists. Sophomore Janeicia Neely contributed 11 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 assists.

The Bobcats (4-0) had 5 players in double digits, with their top scorer Dannisha Pierce scoring 20. Antonella Marino had 16 points, Berna Miranda had 12 points, Jessica Montalvo had 13 points, and Joselyn Ostrout had 12 points.

The Loyola women ended their opening weekend with a 1-1 record and will return to The Den for their home opener against SSAC foe Emmanuel on November 16 at 5:3o p.m.
