His experiences and perspective from his time in the NBA are an invaluable opportunity for everyone to learn how detailed, professional, and elite we need to be in every aspect of our daily routines.
"Being a local native has allowed him to impact our program in every facet seamlessly. Jaron's energy and culture-driven attitude is exactly what we needed. Huge addition for the Pack."
Neville boasts 12 years of coaching experience, developing players at both the high school and professional levels. Neville arrives at Loyola after coaching at Isidore Newman High School last season. At Newman, Neville trained players on both sides of the floor, pushing them to reach their potential. He provided feedback on individual performances, helping them to improve their skills and techniques. Neville led his team to the semifinals of their division in his first season at the helm, developing his own practice plans, game plans, and culture to prepare players to compete at their best.
Prior to joining Newman's coaching staff, Neville worked as a player development coach with the New Orleans Pelicans of the NBA from 2012 to 2019. Neville also analyzed videos of players, pinpointing areas they could improve in and developing drills that helped players reinforce those aspects of their game.
"I am honored to accept the Men's Assistant Coaching job here at Loyola University," Neville said. "Born and raised here in New Orleans, this institution has always been a staple in the city. I look forward to working closely with Coach Reyes and our student-athletes to continue building a winning culture of hard work and excellence on and off the court. Basketball has always been my passion, and I'm eager to bring my experience and dedication to help us reach our future goals. I can't wait to get started and contribute to the success of this program"
