NEW ORLEANS – The Loyola Wolf Pack esports Super Smash Bros. Ultimate team continued their Sun Conference schedule on Wednesday, as well as starting the spring season of NACE SSBU Premier. Loyola picked up two sweeps in the process, claiming victory over Texas A&M-Texarkana and Converse University.Â
Â
The win over TAMUT was Loyola's 11th straight Sun Conference win, dating back to two seasons ago. Loyola still hasn't even dropped a crew battle since March 19, 2024.
Â
A crew battle consists of four players from each team with three stocks apiece. Each team plays one player at a time until all three stocks are lost. The stocks lost carry over to each head-to-head matchup until all four players from one team lose their three stocks. The first team to two crew battle wins claims the match.Â
Â
Lily Neeley was the star in both crew battles. She took out three players and 10 total stocks before losing her three and passing the game off to her teammate. Leyton Gould finished off the final competitor's two stocks to put Loyola up 1-0 in the match. In the second crew battle, again, it was Neeley who dominated. This time, though, she defeated all four TAMUT players before losing her two stocks. In fact, she lost her two stocks in the first game, then proceeded to sweep the next three to sweep the match, 2-0.Â
