MARIETTA, Ga. – After beginning the spring competition schedule last week, the Loyola Wolf Pack competitive cheer team headed to Georgia over the weekend to part in the Life University Classic, hosted by the Life Running Eagles.Â
Â
Six different schools participated on Sunday. The event featured several member schools of the Southern States Athletic Conference: Loyola, Brewton-Parker Christian, Tennessee Southern, William Carey, and the host Running Eagles. Florida Memorial also joined for the two-round competition.Â
Â
Tennessee Southern had the highest scoring performances in both rounds, reaching 90 points in Round 2. Loyola's 86.65 in Round 1 earned the team fourth among six strong teams, though it was higher than both scores from last week's Battle in the Big Easy. Loyola also placed fourth in Round 2 with a score of 85.58.
Â
The spring schedule rolls on for the Wolf Pack cheer team this week. Another SSAC school, the University of Mobile, will host this week's Ram Showdown event on Friday in the last competition weekend before the SSAC Roundup and SSAC Championship in March. The Ram Showdown will take place on Friday, March 20, in Mobile's Pharr Gymnasium.Â
