KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Despite having a 19-5 overall record and an 11-3 mark in Southern States Athletic Conference play, the Loyola University New Orleans men's basketball team still finds itself just outside the NAIA Top 25 in the receiving votes category. The Wolf Pack gathered 50 total votes in Wednesday's rankings, and that's three spots outside the Top 25, with the 25th-ranked team collecting 89 votes.Â
Â
William Carey (20-2, 12-2 in SSAC) is the only Southern States Athletic Conference ranked, checking in at No. 20, and the Wolf Pack is 1-1 against the Crusaders this season.Â
Â
Kameron Johnson, who's been the SSAC Offensive Player of the Week twice and NAIA Offensive Player of the Week once, is third in the NAIA with 149 assists, averaging 6.5 dimes a game this season. While leading the SSAC in assists, he ranks third in the league in scoring (17.9 ppg) and fifth in total steals (47). Johnson is one five scoring in double figures for the Wolf Pack, as Zachary Lee (14.5), Leonard Jackson (12.9), Kosta Bjelicic (11.5) and Eain Mowat (10.4) make Loyola a tough offense to stop. Bjelicic (6.8 rebounds per game), Lee (6.3), Cameron Williams (5.4) and Jaylen Peters (4.6).Â
Â
With four games left in the regular season, the Pack will travel to Mobile and Faulkner this week before closing with Blue Mountain Christian and Tennessee Southern next week in The Den.Â
