THIBODAUX, La. – After starting the 2025 season with a home win against the NCAA Division-I Nicholls State University Colonels, the Loyola Wolf Pack men's tennis team traveled to Nicholls' home courts Wednesday in the penultimate match of the regular season, falling 4-2 to the Colonels.
With the loss, Loyola's record this season drops to 6-9.
Jett Nguyen got the first point in the team score for the Wolf Pack in Wednesday's match, a 6-3, 6-3 result at court 6 to improve to 4-2 on the season.
Alfredo Gallegos got the other point for the Pack, coming back after dropping the first set 6-0 to win the next two 6-2 and grab his 11th win of the season. Remus Hebhang-Balan had won the second set in his match to force a deciding third, but Nicholls clinched their win before his match could finish.
Before starting the Southern States Athletic Conference Championship tournament next week, Loyola will close out the regular season with one more conference match on the road, facing the University of Mobile on April 12 at 11 a.m.
