MT. VERNON, Ga. – The Loyola University New Orleans baseball team salvaged a three-game series with Brewton-Parker on Saturday, winning the finale, 6-5, with a four-run ninth inning. Loyola (31-11, 16-8 in SSAC) still holds the second-place position with William Carey in the Southern States Athletic Conference standings.Â
Â
The Wolf Pack will play five games next week with two midweek home games before a road trip to Tennessee Southern next weekend. The Pack will welcome Louisiana Christian on Tuesday for a 3 p.m. first pitch, then Spring Hill on Wednesday at 5 p.m.

Loyola trailed 5-2 heading to the ninth inning on Saturday, but Jake Mills and Jaxon Buratt both singled to put two runners on base with one out. After Landon Manson loaded the bases by reaching base on an error, Collin Zeringue stepped up and put the Pack ahead with a grand slam, 6-5.Â
Â
Prescott Marsh got the start for the Wolf Pack, and he didn't allow a hit until the sixth inning. A walk and an error helped the Barons tie the game, 1-1, in the second inning, but their offense was limited for most of the game. Brewton-Parker finally got to Marsh in the seventh for two more runs, 3-2, but the freshman still did enough to give his offense a chance. He finished this outing with four strikeouts while allowing the three earned runs on four hits.Â
Â
BPC added two more runs in the eighth inning, 5-2, to set up Loyola's four-run comeback in the ninth. Zeringue picked up the first RBI of the game on a double in the first inning to score Brandon Mooney, 1-0, and Buratt scored Mills in the third inning to give Loyola a 2-1 lead.Â
