NEW ORLEANS – For the first time since 1972, a Tulane University basketball team made the short trip to Loyola's campus for a game, as the Green Wave won the exhibition with the Wolf Pack, 104-57, in The Den on Saturday.Â

The Wolf Pack returns to regular-season play on Tuesday when they travel to Thomas University for both teams' Southern States Athletic Conference opener. Tip-off is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. CST.Â

Loyola spotted Tulane the first seven points of the game, but four points by Caitlin Travis made it a 7-4 score two minutes into the contest. Libby Thompson and Kate Thompson both got on the board to keep it close, 12-8, but Tulane closed out the first quarter on a 20-6 run to lead by 18, 32-14, after 10 minutes of game time.Â

The Green Wave pushed its lead in the second quarter, taking a 56-30 lead heading into halftime. The visitors ended up leading 85-36 after three quarters to further pull away. Kate Thompson scored a team-high twelve points with eight rebounds while Libby Thompson had eight points with eight boards to help the sisters combine for 20 points. Alissa O'Dell added eight points, too, and MG Lymon chipped in seven.Â
