HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The Loyola University New Orleans men's basketball team traveled to Hattiesburg, Mississippi, on Tuesday to play Southern Miss in an exhibition for the Wolf Pack, with the Golden Eagles claiming the 104-65 victory.

The Pack is set to open Southern States Athletic Conference play on Thursday at Mobile. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.

Leonard Jackson and Milan Mejia each hit 3-pointers to help start the game with a 6-4 Wolf Pack lead, then scores by Jackson and Zachary Lee made the score 12-9 in Loyola's favor five minutes into the contest. After Southern Miss took the 17-12 advantage a couple of minutes later, Mejia hit his second and third 3s on back-to-back possessions to put the Pack back ahead, 18-17, near the 12-minute mark.

Kameron Johnson got on the board to tie it, 20-20, but the Golden Eagles scored 10 straight to take a 10-point lead with eight-plus minutes left until halftime. Scores by Lee and Jaylen Peters kept Loyola within single digits, 36-24, at the five-minute mark, but Southern Miss would eventually take a 52-32 halftime lead behind nine 3-pointers.

Southern Miss continued to pull away in the second half, as Reese Seicshnaydre led the team with nine points in the final 20 minutes. That was good enough for the second-most points for the Wolf Pack in the game, with Mejia leading the way with 12.
