ALEXANDRIA, La. – The 13th-ranked Loyola University New Orleans women's basketball team suffered a loss to LSU Alexandria on Monday, dropping the road contest 74-62. The Wolf Pack will now turn their attention to two exhibition games against NCAA Division I teams this week, first traveling to UNO on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. game before hosting Tulane on Saturday at 2 p.m.

Caitlin Travis and Alissa O'Dell got Loyola off to a good start in the first quarter, but the Generals would lead 9-6 after a couple of minutes. Kate Thompson put Loyola back on top, 11-9, with a layup and 3-pointer, however, LSUA scored the final nine points of the frame to take an 18-11 lead into the second quarter.
The next quarter was LSUA's best of the game while it was Loyola's worst, scoring wise. The hosts took a 43-23 lead into halftime after outscoring the Wolf Pack 25-12. Loyola, though, tried to get back in the game with a solid third-quarter effort. Eight points by Travis and seven from O'Dell trimmed the deficit down to 14, 60-46, with 10 minutes to play.
A field goal by Travis, two free throws by Deniya Thornton and a 3-pointer from Libby Thompson early in the fourth made it a 10-point game, 64-54, with seven minutes to play. Scores by Libby Thompson and O'Dell after that even cut it to eight, 67-58, but LSU Alexandira would push its lead back out to double figures and hold on for the win.
