Wolf Pack Smash Bros. splits two matches Thursday

NEW ORLEANS – On Tuesday, the Wolf Pack Overwatch 2 team got the win with a forfeit. In Wednesday's Call of Duty match, the Pack came away with a forfeit victory. On Thursday, the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Plus team began their season, playing against Spring Hill College. In their first showing, the Pack pulled off a 2-0 sweep of the Badgers. Against Full Sail University, the Smash Bros. Premier team lost, falling to a 2-3 record.
 

Next week, the Wolf Pack will start with Overwatch on Tuesday, Oct. 10 against Northwestern Michigan College at 6 p.m. On Thursday, Smash Bros. Plus will continue their season against Talladega College on Oct. 12, at 6 p.m. Smash Bros. Premier will compete at the same time against UNC Greensboro. The Smash Bros. In Smash Bros. Premier, the Full Sail Armada gave the Pack a tough match. In the first crew battle, Makari Jackson's Terry and Nathan Long's Rosalina & Luma each got wins, 2-2 and 3-2. However, FSU's Lucas took down the final two Loyola fighters to get the first set victory, 1-0 and 3-0. In the second crew battle, Samuel Spiegal gave FSU's Cloud a tough time, but could not get the win, falling 3-2. Long kept things going, getting two wins over the Armada, 1-0 and 3-2. FSU's Lucas came back in the second set to repeat victories over Long's last stock and Anthony Nodolski. Jackson returned to end Lucas' run, but FSU's R.O.B. finished off Jackson's last stock.
 

The Smash Bros. Plus team got a dominant victory over Spring Hill, 2-0. In the first set, Leyton Gould's Sonic got two-straight victories over the Badgers, 2-1 and 3-1. Then, Daven-Angelo Montalbano's Toon Link did the same without losing a stock, 2-0 and 3-0. Evan Sakryd started the second set with a victory over Spring Hill's Hero, 3-1. Then, Gould rattled off two more wins, 1-0 and 3-2. Finally, Cylese Winding's Robin took Spring Hill's last stock and sealed the victory for Loyola.
