NEW ORLEANS – Andrew Fava wrapped up his three-year Loyola men's basketball career last March by loudly declaring his retirement while cutting down the nets after the Wolf Pack's NAIA National Championship win in Kansas City. The Baltimore, Maryland, native isn't straying too far from the Pack, though, as the Loyola Athletics Department announced Fava as the new University Sports Complex Coordinator on Thursday.

"I am looking forward to the opportunity that working at the USC presents," Fava said. "Working in athletics is something that I have always wanted to do, and being able to help the Loyola community makes it even better. I am very grateful for Brett Simpson allowing me to continue growing through athletics at Loyola."

Fava will take the lead on day-to-day operations of the sports complex, as well as overseeing building staff, coordinating facility improvements and assisting with home Wolf Pack athletic events.

"Andrew has been an asset for the Loyola Athletics department on and off the court for the last three years," Loyola Athletics Director Brett Simpson said. "His work ethic both in basketball and in the classroom, as well as professionalism, made him an ideal candidate, and his experience as a USC Building Manager will prove to be beneficial for the gym moving forward."

After earning his criminology undergraduate degree during his three-year playing career at the University of Florida, Fava arrived in New Orleans prior to the 2019-2020 academic year. He spent the next three years as a leader of the Wolf Pack men's basketball team while earning two graduate degrees (MBA; Marketing and Communications), a national title, and a spot in the Loyola record books. During that time, he also worked 25 hours a week as a USC Building Manager where he worked directly with the athletics staff, supervised other student workers and lifeguards, organized all calendar events in the gym, and maintained the Loyola athletics home event ticketing system. He also served as the Public Address Announcer for home Wolf Pack baseball games outside of his USC duties.

Fava ended his playing career with the ninth-most made 3-pointers in program history with 183 made 3s in 65 career games with the Pack. His 92 made shots from beyond the arc last season was the third-most in a single season in program history, too, and he registered the 10th-most steals in a single season with 54.
