NEW ORLEANS – The No. 9 Loyola Wolf Pack women's basketball team finished the 2022 portion of their schedule with a perfect 11-0 mark after Monday's win over Brewton-Parker College, dominating the Barons en route to a 94-59 win in The Den. The Pack is now 11-0 overall and 5-0 in Southern States Athletic Conference play.Â

After Christmas break, Loyola will pick things back up on Tuesday, Jan. 3, with a road SSAC matchup at Faulkner. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. in Montgomery, Alabama.Â

After a scoreless first three minutes, Kennedy Hansberry got the Wolf Pack on the board with a 3-pointer. Two free throws by Taylor Thomas and a put-back layup by Liz Critton quickly made it 7-0 with more than five minutes left in the first quarter. Sandra Cannady, Sydni Tangle and Tay Cannon helped push the lead to 17-6 in the final minute, as Cannady hit four free throws and a layup, Tangle scored on a fastbreak opportunity, and Cannon scored her first points of the game.Â

Jazmene McMillan added a jumper as time expired to give Loyola a 21-8 lead after 10 minutes of play. Seven different Wolf Pack players scored in the opening frame, too.Â

Aided by a 3-pointer from Tangle, the two teams traded baskets for the first half of the second quarter, 31-19, but BPC cut it to single digits near the three-minute mark, 33-24. Cannon, McMillan and Thomas combined to make five free throws over the next couple of minutes, 40-26, and McMillan and Tangle closed out the second half each with 3s to send the teams into the locker room with the score 48-29 in Loyola's favor.Â

Thomas started the third quarter with a 3-pointer, which was followed up by scores from Cannady and Critton to bring the Wolf Pack's lead to 55-33 at the seven-minute mark. McMillan gave Loyola its largest lead a couple of minutes later, 59-33, but the Barons made it a 60-38 score a couple of possessions later. Tera Snell and Cannon, however, each hit two free throws and Hansberry scored to put the Pack ahead 67-43 with three quarters in the books.Â

Loyola blew things open in the fourth quarter, outscoring the Barons 27-16 in the frame, as Loyola hit three of its six 3-point attempts and went 10-of-15 from the floor to run with the game.Â

Sydni Tangle, who put up 13 points, also recorded a game-high six assists. Her previous season best in 2022 was four assists.Â
