Box Score

LAFAYETTE, La. – The Loyola Wolf Pack men's basketball team played their third and final exhibition over an NCAA Division I team, matching up against the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Tuesday night in the Cajundome. Loyola battled tough but fell to its opposition 104-70.

After nearly three weeks and seven games away from home, the Wolf Pack (7-1, 2-0 in SSAC play) will return to The Den this Thursday for a matchup against league rival William Carey. Tip-off from The Den is set for 7:30 p.m.

Loyola started the game in an 11-0 hole through the first two minutes but quickly made it a 16-9 game after a Milan Mejia 3-pointer two minutes later. Louisiana, though, pushed its advantage back out to double-digits, getting its lead to 37-18 by the 9:31-mark of the first half.

Loyola answered with a 15-3 run, however, powered by eight points from Jalen Galloway. Michael Harden chipped in five points as well, and Matthew Mondesir added the other bucket to make it a 40-33 ballgame with five minutes left until halftime. The Ragin' Cajuns ended the first 20 minutes with a 49-38 lead, though.

An and-1 opportunity for Galloway made it an eight-point game in the early going of the second, 49-41, but UL quickly drove its lead up to 21, 68-47, a couple of minutes later. Scores by Luke Ladner and Josh Tolbert after that helped the Wolf Pack, but it still wasn't enough against the home team's hot shooting. By the 10-minute mark, Louisiana led 82-58 over the Wolf Pack.

Blake Burkey, Brody Adams, Andrew Stagni and Troy Thomas all added buckets for the Wolf Pack down the stretch, as Louisiana closed out its win.
