Loyola competes in Overwatch 2 debut

NEW ORLEANS – The Pack were unable to capture their first win of the season in Overwatch 2 on Tuesday. Loyola played in a best of five format against Ashland, losing 2-0, 3-0, 3-0.
 

The Wolf Pack will play their next match on Tuesday at 6 p.m. The Pack's next match will be livestreamed on Twitch at https://www.twitch.tv/loynoesports.
 

Loyola played its first set of the season on the Control map, Lijiang Tower. On Garden, the Pack struggled to gain control of the objective, dropping the first round. At Night Market, Loyola was unable to capture the map's point, unsuccessful in its attempt to take Ashland to the third round.
 

In the second set, Loyola played the Hybrid map, King's Row. Starting on defense, the Wolf Pack could not hold off Ashland's attack, giving them a 3-0 lead with 4:05 remaining. Switching sides, Loyola attempted to claim the objective in order to move the payload. Despite the best efforts of Dashiell Hazzard, as Pharah, and Roger Bouche, as Mercy, to claim two notches on the objective, the Wolf Pack were unable to extend the clock.
 

For the third set, Loyola started on defense on the Escort map, Dorado. The Pack's best efforts were not enough in keeping Ashland off the payload, giving them a 3-0 lead with 2:57 remaining. Switching sides for the second round, Loyola hoped to tie the score by matching Ashland's attack. The Wolf Pack did their best to move the payload to the first checkpoint. In spite of its best endeavors, Loyola was unable to extend the clock, falling to Ashland.
 

Loyola will look to improve when facing its next opponent on Tuesday, Oct. 18. The match will be livestreamed on the Wolf Pack's Twitch channel.
