The Pack will continue play in Nashville with two more matches on Saturday

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Loyola University New Orleans volleyball team opened up the Music City Invitational with matches against Milligan College and Georgetown College, falling in both on Friday.

The Wolf Pack (4-7) started the weekend against Milligan (4-2), who received votes in the NAIA Preseason Top 25 Poll. The Buffaloes would win the first two sets 25-18 and 25-17, with the Pack still battling but falling in the final period 27-25.

The second match of the day was another tough one, with Loyola taking its fifth Mid-South Conference opponent this season in Georgetown College (5-7). The Tigers got out to a hot start, winning the opening frame 25-14. The Pack put up more of a fight in the following periods, but dropped them 25-22 and 25-19 to lose 3-0.

The Wolf Pack will look for a more successful Saturday as they close out the Music City Invitational with matches against Huntington College (9 a.m.) and Lindenwood-Belleville (1 p.m.) in Nashville.

Wolf Pack Head Coach Jesse Zabal

"We didn't come out of the gate well today. We fought through some great rallies and almost took a few sets, but just struggled to finish. We have some injuries and illness plaguing is right now, but we're looking forward to some more opportunities to compete tomorrow."
