Loyola drops a pair of games in a weekday doubleheader on the road at the NCAA Division-II opponent
MOBILE, Ala. – Taking a break from conference play, the Loyola University New Orleans baseball team fell 9-5 in game one, and 4-1 in game two of a doubleheader at Spring Hill College Tuesday afternoon.
The Badgers (18-12) were first to score in game one as they took a 2-0 advantage after the first inning of play. The Wolf Pack (15-23) responded in the following inning, as Allen Dennis led it off with a single before Charlie Seiter drove him in on a single of his own. While Spring Hill would extend their lead over the next few innings, Loyola was able to chip away with a three-run sixth, highlighted by a two-run double from Jesse Jordan to left.
Unable to catch up however, the Wolf Pack would fall in game one with the Badgers 9-5.
The home team would once again take an early lead in the second game of the evening, as Loyola would trail 4-0 after three innings. In the top of the fourth, Jase Biehl reached base on a single towards shortstop, with Dennis driving in his team-leading 35th RBI on a base-hit up the middle. However, the score would stand at 4-1 through the remainder of the game.
The Wolf Pack return home and host Blue Mountain College for a three-game series this weekend, beginning with a doubleheader on Friday, April 5 at 4 p.m.
