Box Score Opening up their SSAC schedule, Loyola took down Brewton-Parker in straight sets
MT. VERNON, Ga. – Playing in their 14th consecutive road match to begin the season, the Loyola University New Orleans volleyball team swept conference-foe Brewton-Parker 3-0 Friday afternoon in Gillis Gymnasium.
The first set was a close one, with the Wolf Pack (10-5) opening up to a deficit before drawing it even at 10-10. Brewton-Parker would keep it even before Loyola scored three-straight points to take the 25-22 win.
In set two, the Pack took a quick advantage and held on for the 25-19 win before clinching the match on a 25-18 third set.
The Wolf Pack will remain in the Peach State tomorrow and head to Macon, Ga. for a 2 p.m. match with Middle Georgia State.
"Tonight was a solid win for us. Being on the road for 10 hours then walking into a gym to play is always a little uncomfortable, for players and coaches. The girls tuned in quickly and kept their heads, even after falling behind in the first set. Jordan Bernard, Bella Clayton and Malea Howie had great offensive games for us tonight. As a team, we have a goal of getting three blocks per set every time we step on the court, and we did that tonight. Overall, the team played for and with each other, and we're really proud of them for that."
