Box Score Loyola takes set one 25-18 and led 11-9 in set two when the home team was forced to concede the match
NEW ORLEANS – Making the short trip across town, the Loyola University New Orleans volleyball team took on Southern University at New Orleans Wednesday night, claiming a win by forfeit.
With the score at 2-1, the Wolf Pack (11-10) took an early first set lead they would not let go of before taking a 1-0 match-lead after a 25-18 win. The second set remained close before Loyola took a two-point lead 11-9, when a SUNO injury forced the home team to forfeit.
Isabella Clayton, Tylar Beckham and Maddie Huekels, each had five or more kills, while junor Sunni Blanchard led the team with 10 assists. As a team, the Wolf Pack owned an attack percentage of 0.375 when the game was halted midway through the second set.
Loyola will hit the road this weekend and continue their SSAC schedule, facing William Carey on Friday, October 5th at 6 p.m. before taking on Faulkner on Saturday at 2 p.m.
