William Carey 3, Loyola 1
In the opening match of the day, Chassidy Harris and Megan Zulli combined for 28 kills as William Carey University defeated Loyola University New Orleans 3-1 (22-25, 25-18, 25-18, 25-23) in a tri-match opener between the two schools and Dillard University.
For Loyola, Beatriz Agosto (SO/Miami, Fla.) led with 11 kills and a .313 attacking percentage. Allison Hartmann (JR/Slidell, La.) added 10 kills to round out the Wolf Pack attack. Defensively, Helena Masone had 17 digs, while Anna Katherine Brunini (JR/Madison, Miss.) chipped in 15 digs.
Loyola 3, Dillard 0
In the final regular season match on Senior Day, Loyola picked up a 3-0 victory over Dillard University after six members of the Wolf Pack had seven or more kills. After a highly competitive set which saw a few set points for each side, Loyola pulled out a win in the first set 28-26, then went on to win the remaining sets 25-18, 25-18.
Included in the 42 total kills for the team were six each by seniors Keyanna Gayden (SR/Calera, Ala.) and Lindsay Ulfig (SR/Saline, Mich.) in their final matches played in The Den. Sunni Blanchard (SO/Pierre Part, La.) assisted on a team-high 14 kills, with Maddie Huekels (JR/Dyer, Ind.) not far behind at 13 assists for the match.
On defense, Elizabeth Scioneaux (SR/Reserve, La.) had the second-most number of digs in the match for Loyola with 13 while also serving an ace in her final home match for the Wolf Pack. Helene Masone (FR/Destin, Fla.) led the team with 18 digs while picking up two aces.
Loyola completes regular season play with a 15-18 record overall and 4-10 SSAC record.
The next match for the Wolf Pack is scheduled for Nov. 9th at 3:00 p.m. as the Wolf Pack come into the SSAC conference tournament as the No. 7 seed to take on No. 3 Martin Methodist.
