Box Score Wolf Pack will welcome Martin Methodist College to the First NBC Court on Friday, Sept. 30, for a match set to start at 6:00 p.m.
The Loyola University New Orleans volleyball team took a step outside of conference play on Wednesday night, traveling to the Arthur R. Outlaw Recreation Center to square off against NCAA Division II Spring Hill College.
Despite dropping the first two sets, the Wolf Pack battled back to claim set three to cut the deficit 1-2. Rattled but not defeated, the Badgers bounced back and quickly regained the momentum in the fourth set to claim victory 3-1 (25-14,25-14,22-25,25-17) in Alabama.
With the loss, Loyola drops to 9-13 overall. Conversely, the Badgers improve to 16-3 following Wednesday's win.
Both teams collected 51 digs, but the Badgers held the edge in nearly all other statistical categories including: kills (55-38), assists (51-36) and aces (11-5).
Maddie Huekels (SO/Dyer, In.) had a great all-around match against Spring Hill, collecting a team-high 21 assists and 13 digs to go along with four kills. With the 21 assists, Huekels eclipsed the 1000 career assist mark – totaling 1013 helpers in under two seasons.
Tylar Beckham (SO/New Orleans, La.) led the Wolf Pack with 12 kills on Wednesday and Sunni Blanchard (FR/Pierre Part, La.) chipped in 10 digs and eight assists in the loss.
The Badgers' Madison Seuzeneau led all players with 19 kills and Anna Tiejens paced the Spring Hill attack with an impressive 44 assists in the victory.
Loyola returns to First NBC Court on Friday, Sept. 30, to take on Martin Methodist at 6:00 p.m.
