(New Orleans, La.) Loyola University New Orleans volleyball keeps their hot-streak rolling tonight by earning their fourth consecutive victory in straight sets knocking off cross-town foe, Dillard University, 25-20, 25-23, 25-22. Tonight's match was the first time that these teams have met since the 2012 season, ending in similar fashion with The Wolf Pack downing the Bleu Devils in three sets.
The Wolf Pack's offensive onslaught was provided tonight by Freshmen duo Allison Hartmann and Jordan Davis. The middle blockers tallied 14 and 12 kills apiece on .364 and .474 hitting percentages, respectively. On the defensive side of the net, the Wolf Pack as a team was all over the court, with nearly every player registering a dig. Senior Breanna Stevenson lead the way with 17 digs, followed by fellow senior Eva Allen with 14, and rounding out the side was freshman Jordan Davis with 12 digs and 6 blocks. Freshman Maddie Huekels and sophomore Lindsay Ulfig aided tonight's offensive attack, dishing out 25 and 16 assists, respectively.
This evening's victory gives The Wolf Pack (9-8) their fourth consecutive victory and their third of the week. The Pack (9-8), earned victories against Alcorn State University and Tougaloo College on Tuesday, September 22.
On Tuesday, the Wolf Pack fought hard in a win over the Braves in straight-sets (25-20, 25-21, 25-20). Eva Allen and Jordan Davis lead the offense with 8 kills apiece. Allen and Brianna Stevenson pillared the defense front with 11 and 10 digs, respectively. Maddie Huekels aided the offense with 8 assists on the night. The Pack closed out Tuesday evening in dominant fashion as the over-powered Tougaloo College in three sets, 25-12, 25-22, 25-14.
The Pack will close out the week this Saturday, September 26, as the play host to conference opponent Brenau University (5-7, 0-3 SSAC). The Golden Tigers will travel to Mobile, Ala. on Friday to take on the University of Mobile and then will continue west on I-10 to face the Wolf Pack in the Den, Saturday at 11:00 am.
