Loyola University New Orleans baseball won both games of a doubleheader versus Blackburn College tonight, defeating the Beavers 6-0 in the first game and 10-2 in the second game.

(New Orleans, La.) Loyola University New Orleans baseball won both games of a doubleheader versus Blackburn College tonight, defeating the Beavers 6-0 in the first game and 10-2 in the second game.
Stewart Campbell earned the win for the Wolf Pack in the first game. Campbell struck out five Blackburn batters in six shutout innings, moving to 3-2 on the season. Joel Buhler pitched one inning of scoreless relief to close out the game and complete the shutout.
Loyola (14-12) did most of its damage in the bottom of the sixth inning, scoring five runs to take a six run cushion into the final frame. Andrew Fournet, Alexander Lorenzo, Luis Anguizola, Britt Pellegrin and Blake Battle all drove in a run for the Pack in the sixth inning. Anguizola finished the game 2-3 with a double and two runs scored.
Blackburn (0-4) collected just four hits in the first game, with two of them coming from Tyler Durand.
Tyler Morgan earned the loss for the Beavers, allowing two hits, two walks and one earned run in five innings pitched.
The Wolf Pack bats really came to life in the second game of the doubleheader. Rawlings Elam, John Nicholson, Joseph Kuchler and Spencer Rosenbohm all had multi-hit games for the Pack. Nicholson was 2-2 with two doubles, two runs scored and four RBI. Elam and Rosenbohm both collected two singles and two runs each. Elam also swiped two bases.
Jordan Green pitched four scoreless innings on the mound for Loyola, earning the win and moving to 2-0 on the season.
Durand took the loss for the Beavers, allowing five hits and four earned runs in just three innings of work.
Vinnie Birk was 2-3 for Blackburn with a run scored while Aaron Moody and Jose Osorio each drove in a run.
Loyola and Blackburn will play one more game tomorrow to finish up the three game series. First pitch is slated for 6 p.m.
