(New Orleans, La.) Loyola University New Orleans volleyball fell in five hard-fought sets to the Martin Methodist Redhawks this morning 16-25, 8-25, 25-22, 25-18, 11-15.
Senior Lauren Brand and junior Eva Allen excelled on offense, tallying 16 kills apiece. Sophomore Wren Overesch also contributed 15 kills. Senior Becca Burnett led the Pack on defense with 11 digs, while sophomore setter Daniela Leal and junior Breanna Stevenson compiled 10 and nine respectively. Leal also garnered 40 assists in the loss.
Sophomore outside hitter Gloria Watson led the Redhawks' offense with 25 kills. Freshman Domynique Kloss and junior Rosmerli Carrillo led the defense with 10 digs apiece. Sophomore setter Mariana Campos tallied 51 of the Redhawks' 57 assists.
The Pack (2-5, 0-2 SSAC) will remain at home to play Jesuit rival Spring Hill College in The Den on Tuesday, September 9 at 7 p.m.
