(McKenzie, Tenn.) Loyola University New Orleans volleyball got off to a strong start, but could not hold on against Martin Methodist College, falling in five sets 25-23, 25-22, 28-30, 11-25, 9-15. This was the Wolf Pack's final match of the regular season, and they will head to the conference tournament next week, November 13-15 in Montgomery, Ala.
Junior Eva Allen tallied a career-high 22 kills, leading the Pack on offense. She also accumulated 11 digs in the loss. Senior Lauren Brand and freshman Keyanna Gayden finished the day with eight digs apiece, and Brand also notched 11 digs. Senior Becca Burnett drove the defense with 24 digs and added two service aces. Sophomore setter Daniela Leal aided the offensive effort with 35 assists and also contributed 12 digs.
Sophomore Gloria Watson drove the Red Hawks (9-15, 7-11 SSAC) on offense with 18 digs, while junior Rosmerli Carrillo added 17. Freshman Domynique Kloss headed the defensive effort with 37 digs and also finished the night with three service aces. Sophomore setter Mariana Campos compiled 40 assists on the afternoon. The Red Hawks also garnered 14 team blocks.
The Pack (12-19, 5-13 SSAC) will head to Montgomery, Ala. next Thursday, November 13 to play in the SSAC Championships. Opponents and times will be announced at a later date.
