(Jackson, Miss.) The Loyola University New Orleans volleyball team beat the Belhaven Blazers 25-21, 9-25, 25-18, 25-16 this evening at The Hangar Dome of Millsaps College. The match was played a day earlier at an alternate location than originally scheduled due to water damage at the Belhaven facilities.
Three Wolf Pack (7-16, 5-7 SSAC) team members tallied double digits in kills. Sophomore Eva Allen led the attack with 13 kills (.303 hitting percentage), one ace and one assist. Sophomore Kaitlin Mohr recorded 11 kills while senior Sabrina Stansberry added 10 kills and four block assists.
Fueling the offense for the Blazers (8-17, 2-10 SSAC) was freshman Jackie Gunderson with 11 kills and one ace. Sophomore Taylor Hall and senior Brittany Ammons chipped in with eight apiece.
Loyola will return to action with a double header at The Den on Saturday, Oct. 19 when they take on Avila College at 10 a.m. followed by a matchup with Xavier University at 2 p.m. The seniors will be honored as the matches will take place on Senior Day.
