Loyola wins a pair in Hampton Inn Invitational on Friday

(New Orleans, La.) Loyola University New Orleans volleyball team opened the first day of the Hampton Inn Wolf Pack Invitational with a pair of victories on Friday in The Den.  

In the Pack's opening match of the tourney, Kailey Tuthill had a career high 13 kills in a thrilling five set match over Xavier (13-6).  Loyola dropped the first two sets before taking the contest 25-27, 23-25, 25-21, 25-21, 15-6.  Sabrina Stansberry added 12 kills in the match for LU.

In the nightcap, Loyola (17-7) downed Arkansas-Monticello 25-14, 25-16, 25-16.  Eva Allen led the Wolf Pack with 8 kills.  Tuthill was among the leaders again with 7 kills.  The Cotton Blossoms are 9-17 on the season.

The tournament continues Saturday with Loyola facing off against city-rival SUNO at 9 a.m. and Union at 3 p.m.
