Navapon Bungthong

Navapon Bungthong joined Loyola University New Orleans in 2025 as an athletic trainer through Ochsner Sports Medicine. Before arriving at Loyola, he provided sports medicine coverage for local high schools and Nunez Community College.

Originally from Thailand, Bungthong earned his bachelor’s degree in Exercise and Sports Science from Burapha University in 2014. Prior to becoming an athletic trainer, he worked as a personal trainer, fitness instructor, and fitness coach. He later pursued advanced training in the United States, completing a master’s degree in Athletic Training from Ohio University in 2022.

Bungthong gained valuable athletic training experience at Fresno State University and San Jose State University in California before relocating to Louisiana. His passion for athlete health, performance, and rehabilitation guides his work with student-athletes.

Outside of athletic training, Bungthong enjoys working out, MMA, watching sports, spending time outdoors, and karaoke. His favorite foods are sushi, steak, and pad kaprao, and his favorite athlete is former UFC champion Max Holloway.
