Stacy Hollowell is entering his eighth season at the helm of Loyola's men's basketball program in 2021-22. Last season, he moved into second on Loyola's all-time wins list, earning career victory No. 128 against Talladega on Mar. 13, 2021. After seven seasons, Hollowell's Wolf Pack teams have won 129 total games.

Despite a shortened 2020-21 season, Loyola found success, posting a 15-6 record overall while reaching a ranking as high as No. 5 during the year. Led by three-time NAIA All-America honorees Zach Wrightsil and Myles Burns, the Wolf Pack earned a spot in the NAIA National Championship tournament field for the third season in a row. In Hollowell's seventh season, his Wolf Pack team advanced to the quarterfinals at the national tournament for the first time since the 1946 season, as they claimed victories over Talladega and Marian in the first two rounds.

The Wolf Pack put together another stellar season in 2019-20, his sixth year as head coach, compiling a 23-10 overall record and reaching the Southern States Athletic Conference championship game for the second straight season. Hollowell, who picked up his 100th-career victory against Bethel on Nov. 21, 2019, led the team to 21 wins during the regular season, which is a program record.

Three players earned All-America Honorable Mention during the 19-20 season under Hollowell, with Myles Burns, Zach Wrightsil, and Tim Cameron earning national recognition. The trio received First-Team All-Conference honors from the SSAC, while Burns was also named SSAC Defensive Player of the Year and Third-Team All-Louisiana by the LSWA.

Loyola earned a No. 6 seed in the 2020 NAIA National Tournament, but the tournament was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The tournament berth was the team’s second straight.

His fifth year was one of the most successful in school history, after he guided the Wolf Pack to the round of 16 at the NAIA National Championship for the first time since 1946. After Hollowell coached the team to a fifth-straight winning season and 22-12 record in 2018-19, Zach Wrightsil and Myles Burns each earned First-Team All-SSAC, NAIA All-American Honorable Mention, and LSWA Third-Team All-Louisiana honors, with Wrightsil being named SSAC Freshman of the Year while Burns was named SSAC Defensive Player of the Year.

The team in 2017-18 earned 16 wins and advanced to the semifinals of the SSAC Championship tournament. Eight members of the squad earned conference accolades at the end of the 2017-18 season, including Nick Parker, who was named First-Team All-SSAC as well as an LSWA and NAIA All-American honorable mention.

In the 2016-17 season, Hollowell guided the Pack to a 22-10 record, helping Loyola reach 20 wins for the first time since the 2011-12 season and tying for the second-most wins in program history. After reaching the semifinals at the SSAC Championship, the Pack ended a 71-year drought of tournament appearances, earning a spot in the NAIA National Tournament.

In Hollowell’s second year at the helm, Loyola finished the 2015-16 season at 17-13 overall with a 10-8 mark in the SSAC.

Three members of the Loyola’s 2015-16 squad earned conference accolades for their work on the court with Johnny Griffin Jr. being named First Team All-Conference, Nick Parker grabbing Second Team All-Conference accolades and Tre’von Jasmine earning a spot on the SSAC All-Freshman squad.

In the classroom, three Wolf Pack men’s hoopers earned All-Academic accolades from the SSAC in 2015-16 while Jalen Gray and Nate Pierre were also placed on the Honors Court by the NABC.

Hollowell joined the Loyola staff after head coaching stints with the Qatar Youth National Team, LCC International University in Lithuania, and the Manama Sports Club in Bahrain. Along with running the youth team since 2009, he was an assistant coach for the Qatar National Team from 2003-2006 where the team participated in the 2006 FIBA World Championship and compiled an overall record of 111-56. The team also won four gold medals during his tenure.

At LCC International, Hollowell oversaw the program in its first two years of existence starting in 2007 where he led the team to playoff appearances in both seasons. Before joining LCC, in his only season with the Manama Sports Club, he led his squad to an appearance in the Championship series despite losing their best player. In 2006, he was contracted as an advanced scout for the Chinese National Team who went on to win a gold medal in the Asian Games.

As an assistant with Loyola, he was instrumental in one of the most successful campaigns in school history as the 2011-12 team finished the year with a 20-10 record and the Southern States Athletic Conference West Division title. The 20 wins were the most in a season since the 1947-48 team finished 21-9.

He has also helped the team achieve a great deal of success in the classroom. The Pack has received a NABC Team Academic Excellence Award the past two seasons and has been given an NAIA Scholar-Team award all four seasons Hollowell has been on board. The NAIA also awarded the team the Buffalo Funds Five Star Champions of Character Team award for the 2011-12 season.

Hollowell graduated from St. Edward’s University in Austin, Texas in 2001 with a degree in economics. While in college, he served as a student assistant with the men’s basketball team. Following a one-year stint with Western Kentucky as a volunteer assistant coach, he came back to St. Edward’ s to serve as an assistant for one season in 2001.

He and his wife Nicole reside in New Orleans. Hollowell is the father of three children, Emma, Jett and Jax, and he has a stepson, Aaron Traub.
