Wolf Pack Competitive Cheer coach Courtney Cadore announced the addition of Darell Honora as a volunteer assistant coach on Thursday, Sept. 19. Honora returns to the Wolf Pack after being a member of the cheer team from 2018 through 2022.

Honora brings eight years of cheerleading experience in both the collegiate and professional scenes to the Wolf Pack. Honora is in his second season with the New Orleans Saints Cheer Krewe, serving as the Head of the events committee. While serving as a captain of the Loyola Cheer team, Honora was also a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. He was also part of the 2019-2020 Loyola cheer team that earned a spot in the NAIA Cheer and Dance National Championship in Davenport, Iowa. However, the event was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

"I am extremely excited and honored to be Assistant Coach for Loyola University New Orleans Cheer Team," Honora said. "It is truly an honor to be back with the Wolf Pack in a new role. Being able to help grow and develop the members of this program that helped shape me into the individual and athlete I am today is truly surreal. I cannot wait to build new relationships with our athletes and become one of the best programs this country has seen."

After graduating from Loyola with a degree in Sociology and English in 2022, Honora worked as an educator in the New Orleans public school system and coaching cheerleading and track and field at Booker T. Washington High School. While serving as an assistant coach for the Wolf Pack, Honora will continue to pursue his master's in Educational Leadership.
